Griffin's voiceover tells viewers that "Magic has a cost -- our ancestors did not pay it," suggesting the world's demise was at the hands of magic. WebHe looks like a sea urchin, and the fact that he's an orphan stealing from the crew makes him the Ethersea equivalent of a Street Urchin. Non-Human Sidekick : He's described as a mix between a hedgehog and a sea urchin that is capable of human speech, and the crew are stuck with him for the foreseeable future.
