Dressing the bridge saddle is a good one to try - assuming the string sits in the centre of it in the first place and hasn't moved over to touch the height-adjusting allen screw. I've tried several different pickups. Currently have an Electric City RD 59 in the bridge, and a Gibson '57 in the neck. With notes fretted it still sounds dead. If you have no distance between the string and fret 1 that’ll be the cause. It could be a neck relief issue - easily checked but I’m guessing it’s the nut slot, like most others who’ve responded.
Web28 de ago. de 2024 · Like someone else said, it probably sounds weird to you because the original song is a half step down, so every note is too high but you’re focusing on the high E because it’s the highest note being played. The ‘tinny’ sound comes from you not fretting all the way, and wasn’t a big problem in this clip.
