The area can best be described as a hikers paradise where you will find endless hiking trails that lead you through beautiful, volcanic landscapes. WebThe trail and it's surroundings consist mostly of barren rock, lava, glacial ice, occational snow patches and large boulders, all in all places where it's absolutely unsuitable to pitch a tent. Due to frequent high winds in the area, a tent is simply not a safe accomodation. The huts are the same as previous years.
